Who we are

The Editor of Fast-Autos.com is John Hartley, who took over towards the end of 2003, with the aim of improving the site, both in the extent of the cars covered, and also in the depth of coverage.

Pauline Drury works part-time as an administrative assistant.

John Hartley is a very experienced and knowledgeable motoring journalist. He trained and worked as an engineer in the car industry before being trained as a journalist. He is a past winner of the Michelin/Guild of Motoring Writers Travel Award, and the Vauxhall/ Guild of Motoring Writers Technology Writing Award. He worked on the design of sports racing cars before turning to journalism, and used to race small British sports cars and saloon cars.

He has been a freelance motoring and auto industry writer for many years, including nine years in Japan. He has written regularly for many magazines including Autocar, Car and The Engineer in the UK, Car (South Africa), Wheels (Australia), Car & Driver, Road & Track, Automotive News and Teknikaan Mailma.

John has also written 15 books including "Questions and Answers on Suspensioon and Steering" published by Newnes-Butterworth, "The Revolution in Materials in the Motor Industry" and "The Revolution in Electronics in the Motor Industry"(2 editions). These were published by The Economist Intelligence Unit.
