Join Loris Bicocchi as he drives the Koenigsegg CCR round the banked Nardo circuit in Italy, as he drives faster and faster till be hits the magic 388 km/h (241 mph) which made the CCR the fastest production car in the world - but only for a few months because Bugatti took the Veyron 16.4 to an even faster circuit to up the record to 248 mph. SInce then, the record has been pushed up further to 255 mph by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, but that does not lessen this magnificent drive.

Nevertheless, this was a real achievement of driver and car because the Nardo circuit is not steeply banked, and Bicocchi was 'cornering' at well above the neutral speed for the circuit. During the video you will see Christian von Koenigsegg, the founder of Koenigsegg, breathe in deeply with nervousness and excitement about what was happening!
Unfortunately, this video is rather dark, but you will still get the feel of what it is like to drive near the speed of an airplane. We'll be adding more videos of better quality soon.
